This year, ITER will be held in Dicomano in October: experience Mugello at a leisurely pace with a range of initiatives and activities on offer
After its first year, which served to present the project that was concluding its ‘construction’ phase, ‘ITER - 2nd Festival of Walking and Slow Living in Mugello’ returns. The event, organised by the ‘Le Orme’ Association and linked to the Orme del Mugello project, will, as conceived, travel around the areas covered by the project. So, after its launch in 2025 between San Piero a Sieve and Barberino, this year the Festival moves east and will take place in Dicomano. The timing of the event is also new: it will take place on 10 and 11 October, coinciding with the traditional October Fair held in the village on the banks of the Sieve. It will be an opportunity to experience one of the most beautiful seasons in our area: that of the grape harvest, chestnuts, truffles, and in Dicomano also Bardiccio (on that occasion, the traditional Bardiccio challenge will take place), with splendid landscapes made unique by the foliage. And there will be no shortage of trails to follow, along the 14 itineraries of Orme, among wine, Etruscans, history and religion. There will be many initiatives to learn about and experience the project, its stories, and the companies that are involved and part of it. Culture, art, crafts, food and wine, traditions, which can be seen and learned about or even tried thanks to trekking, cycling, yoga lessons and activities with your own animals, all free of charge. There will also be conferences discussing Mugello, slow tourism and walking trails. The presence of important and qualified names will make the meetings and events highly appealing, while the presence of qualified operators will make the experiences on offer unique. Artists will be at work for the entire two days of the event, Mugello cuisine will be offered in an interesting refreshment area, and music and theatre will enliven the event in a pleasant way, always linked to the themes of Orme del Mugello. There will also be space for many companies, municipalities and associations to present their activities or products and bring the territories of the nine municipalities of the Mugello tourist area to life. It will also be a good opportunity for those who are travelling to choose that period to leave their “footprints” in Mugello.
