The Oratory of Saints Carlo and Antonio, located in the municipality of Palazzuolo sul Senio (province of Florence), is an elegant building of seventeenth-century origin, which has now lost its function as a place of worship and is intended for cultural activities, exhibitions, and events. The building has retained its original structure, dating back to the 17th century, and preserves precious decorative elements inside. The altars are embellished with elegant stuccoes, while the 17th-century canvases bear witness to the influence of the Florentine painting school of the time. An interesting feature is represented by the 18th-century wooden benches, engraved with the names of the donors, in memory of the strong bond between the local community and the oratory. One of the most significant artistic elements of the oratory is the Via Crucis, created between 1925 and 1930 by Tito Chini, belonging to the famous family of artists and ceramists of the Fornaci San Lorenzo. His works, characterized by a refined and innovative style, enrich the artistic heritage of the building, creating a suggestive contrast between modern decoration and historical architecture. No longer used as a place of worship, the oratory is now a space dedicated to culture, periodically hosting exhibitions, displays, and artistic events. Thanks to its location in the heart of the village and its intimate atmosphere, it has become a reference point for initiatives that enhance the local historical and artistic heritage.
