The Cafaggiolo Estate, located in the heart of Mugello, in the Municipality of Scarperia e San Piero, has its roots in the long winemaking tradition of the Medici family, which has enriched this territory with the culture of wine for centuries. Our vineyards are surrounded by gentle hills, a succession of extraordinary landscapes that reflect the natural beauty of the Mugello valley, right at the foot of the Cafaggiolo Castle, a historic symbol of the Medici family. The wines we produce pay tribute to the eternal gifts of wine and life, following in the footsteps of Lorenzo the Magnificent, who wrote in his Triumph of Bacchus and Ariadne: "Long live Bacchus and long live Love!". Among the hills of this land, we passionately dedicate ourselves to organic winemaking, fully respecting the nature that surrounds us. The vineyards, which also include the seven hectares of Podere Fortuna, once part of the Medici property, are perfect for cultivating Pinot Noir grapes, thanks to the particular temperature range between day and night. In addition, small quantities of Chardonnay and Rosé are produced. The winery, which uses only natural yeasts, is designed to enhance every characteristic of our product, with fermentation in oak vats and aging in small barrels, without filtration, to preserve its natural bouquet. The philosophy is to protect the land and the fruits it offers us, adopting organic viticulture practices that eliminate the use of pesticides and use natural fertilizers such as grape skins, which we reuse to nourish the soils. Furthermore, the company is committed to environmental sustainability, with the installation of a photovoltaic system that produces clean electricity, thus contributing to responsible and quality viticulture.
