Tenuta Baccanella was established in the 1980s as a cereal and olive farm, born out of the passion of Grandfather Aldo, who moved to Mugello to work with the Frescobaldi family. His dedication and love for the land were the seed of a dream that, in the 2000s, turned into a winery. Following tastings and a growing passion for the world of wine, the Cappetti family decided to steer the company towards wine production, creating their own vineyard and cellar. The first wine produced was a dessert wine, actually a Vin Santo, named "10", made from Chardonnay grapes and aged for over ten years in oak barrels. Today, Tenuta Baccanella boasts half a hectare of vineyards, with Pinot Nero and Chardonnay varieties, but plans to triple the vineyard area, aiming to increase production without compromising quality. The inspiration to introduce Pinot Nero came in 2006, during a trip to Burgundy, where the Cappetti family noticed climatic similarities with Mugello, leading them to attempt cultivating this variety. The estate continues its journey, with the ambition of producing high-quality wines that reflect the character and tradition of the region.
