Tenuta Matteraia
FotoIn 1973, Ivo Malpaga, after a thorough search among the agricultural realities of Tuscany, acquires the La Matteraia estate, in the Municipality of Vicchio, and initiates an ambitious project to redevelop the property. In the following months, four hectares of apple orchards, 1,500 olive trees, one hectare of vineyard are planted, and a part of the farmhouse is renovated for agritourism purposes. For many years, these activities represent the heart of the company, which stands out for the quality of its agricultural products and the deep connection with the territory. In 2010, the baton is passed to his son Ivan, who decides to give a new direction to La Matteraia, focusing decisively on viticulture. New vineyards are planted, and in 2012, a modern winery is inaugurated, now one of the main pillars of the company. The winemaking tradition, rooted in the Trentino mountains with his grandfather Isacco, thus finds new life among the Tuscan hills, carrying on a story made of passion, memory, and innovation. The choice to collaborate with a winemaker proves crucial to ensure the high quality of the production, among which stands out the Riserva Isacco, dedicated to the memory of the grandfather. La Matteraia wines are born from expert hands, nurtured with dedication, research, and meticulous care, to achieve a perfect balance that best expresses the soul of the territory. Today, the company is a reference point for those who wish to discover the wine authenticity of Mugello, offering not only an excellent production but also immersive experiences among vineyards and cellar, where each bottle tells a story of passion and identity.
