Just a few steps away from the exhibition spaces dedicated to the prehistory of Mugello, there is an exceptional life-size reconstruction of a prehistoric village, created to enrich the valley's unique exhibition of prehistoric artifacts. This extraordinary setup allows visitors to travel back in time, offering an immersive experience into the daily life of the ancient populations that inhabited Mugello. The village consists of three huts, each representative of a different era: Huts of Paleolithic hunters (Lower Paleolithic, 250,000 years ago); Huts of farmer-herders (Bronze Age, around 5,000 years ago); Huts of the Iron Age (10th century BC). Each hut is faithfully furnished with elements of daily life from that era: wooden beds, hearths, weaving looms, weapons, tools, and other typical objects. Surrounding the dwellings are additional artifacts, such as standing stones, posts with animal carcasses, and an Iron Age pit tomb, to recreate an authentic and evocative setting. This prehistoric village offers a unique opportunity to understand the oldest roots of Mugello's history, immersing oneself in the habits and customs of the populations that first inhabited this land.
