The Springs of the Lamone are a place of extraordinary natural beauty located in the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines. This spring point marks the beginning of the Lamone river, a watercourse that crosses the area with a crucial role both from an environmental and historical-cultural perspective. The Lamone, about 90 km long, is a vital element for the territory. It passes through villages and cities like Faenza, before flowing into the Adriatic Sea near Marina Romea, providing water for agriculture, habitat for numerous animal and plant species, and inspiration for the local culture. Throughout history, its banks have seen the development of artisanal activities and traditions linked to the processing of ceramics, as it happened in the city of Faenza. The springs are located in a secluded valley, surrounded by beech and chestnut woods. The area is easily accessible through well-marked paths, making it a perfect destination for hiking and nature lovers. The Springs of the Lamone are linked to various popular legends. One of the most well-known tells that the river was born from the tears of a lovestruck nymph, desperate for not being able to be united with her beloved. This story, passed down orally through the centuries, reflects the deep connection between the local population and the river, considered almost a living and protective presence.
